Microsoft developed and launched several windows versions to provide the latest browsing experiences to its customers worldwide. Windows 1.0 was the first version that was released in 1985, and the other versions that followed this were windows 2.0,3.x,95,98, ME, NT,2000,XP, VISTA,2007,8.X,9,10,and 11. The latest windows version is 11 which has the most advanced built-in features.

The major Windows versions are windows 1.0,2.0,3.x,95,98, ME, NT,2000, XP, Vista,7,8,9,10, and windows 11.

Windows 1.0-The First Windows Version

Windows 1.0 was the initial release,and it was the first windows that Microsoft developed and launched in the market on November 20,1985. It was capable to run multi-tasking for graphical programs as well as MS-DOS software. The system had 16-bit built-in multi-tasking shell on the existing MS-DOS installation.

Windows 1.0 has:

Windows 2.0-The Second Versions of Windows

Windows 2.0 has developed many new features which are different from its predecessor like allowing users to overlap and resize application windows,keyboard shortcuts, 16-color VGA graphics,and desktop icons.

Finally, the Windows version 2.3 was released on 9th December, 1987.

Windows Version 3.x

Windows 3.x was the third version of Microsoft windows which the company developed and released on May 22, 1990,and the the versions of the family were developed,updated,and released till 1994.

Windows version 3.x has:

  • 16-bit-GUI program installed on top of MS-DOS.
  • Multi-tasking capabilities.

Windows XP

Windows XP was released on October 25,2001. It used hybrid Kernel,C++ based software,and GDI+subsystem to replace certain GDI-based functions.

  • ClearType subpixel rendering to make fonts more readable, and stylish on LCD display.

Windows Vista

Windows Vista finally released on January 30, 2007 and Windows XP was its predecessor. This version of windows has more advanced, stylish,user-friendly and customizable features. It has developed Windows Aero, a new GUI feature,DVD support,File Encryption, windows sidebar, improved photo gallery and parental controls.
